Frequently
Asked Questions

What Are Your Fees?

Our services are billed at $300/hr. Services are also prorated in 15-minute increments, rounding to the nearest 15 minute increment.

You can read the GFE here

Please inquire if the full fee would pose a hardship as we hold a few reduced fee spots. A reduced fee rate is also available for disabled and/or chronically ill, BIPOC, or otherwise marginalized healthcare providers (for treatment or professional consultation).

Do You Accept Insurance?

We do not accept insurance. As a small, disabled, LGBTQIA+, woman-owned clinic, we’ve found that accepting insurance limits our ability to provide the best care possible. However, we understand the importance of cost efficiency, especially for those managing chronic illness or disability who often meet their out-of-network deductibles. That's why we offer superbills for patients who qualify, which can be submitted to insurance for potential reimbursement.

What Is A Superbill? How Do I Use One?

A superbill is an itemized receipt of services from an out-of-network provider, like Antler Clinic, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network services. The superbill will include details like appointment type, duration, and diagnostic codes. To ensure eligibility for reimbursement, check with your insurance provider about your out-of-network benefits. Keep in mind, most insurance plans require you to meet your out-of-network deductible before they offer any reimbursement, and they typically only cover a portion of what they determine the service to be worth, not necessarily what you paid.

Why Are Your Rates So High?

  • Dr. Antler has over 15 years of clinical experience including advanced trainings and offers a very specialized service that integrates her extensive training and lived-experience.
  • Expenses associated with specialized trainings, obtained expert consultation, and other unique services offered by the clinic.
  • Charging a higher rate for patients for whom the full fee is not a hardship allows us to delegate some slots at a reduced rate for those experiencing financial barriers or hardship.
  • Being disabled means Dr. Antler can only work part time and charging a higher rate allows her to spend more time on each individual patient (in and outside of appointments), ensuring patients are provided with the best care possible.

How Do I Pay For Services?

We require a credit card to be on file at all times, and we also accept payments via Zelle. All payments are due on the day of service.

How Do I Contact My Therapist?

We are unable to provide emergency or crisis services outside of business hours. In case of an emergency, please contact 988, 911, or visit the nearest emergency room. For non-urgent matters, email and text are preferred, but keep in mind that these methods are not HIPAA compliant and should only be used for scheduling. For secure communication, you can message your provider through TherapyNotes

How Do I Know If I’m A Good Fit For Your Clinic?

Antler Clinic is focused on serving individuals with (suspected or already diagnosed) physical health conditions and/or chronic illnesses or chronic pain, often paired with mental, neurodevelopmental, or cognitive challenges. If you've experienced medical gaslighting, neglect, or trauma or are looking for a provider who understands both the personal and professional aspects of living with disabling medical conditions, you may be a great fit for our clinic.

How Do I Know If I Am Disabled?

What Is A Chronic Illness And What Does It Mean To Be Chronically Ill?

A chronic illness is any long-term illness or medical condition that does not have a cure and results in variable symptoms throughout the course of someone’s life. Sometimes people refer to themselves as disabled or dynamically disabled when they have a chronic illness, but other times people prefer to refer to themselves as chronically ill.

Why Do You Have Resources Relating To COVID-19 On Your Website?

Unfortunately, COVID-19 never went away (as much as we all wanted it to). It is still rapidly spreading and it is doing the most harm to disabled and BIPOC communities. Though we are better at preventing death from acute COVID, long covid remains a substantial risk and there are still no effective treatments available for the condition while estimates of prevalence vary wildly, ranging from between 1.7 to 77.7% (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/eclinm/article/PIIS2589-5370(24)00169-X/fulltext , https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10931928/ ). Dr. Antler takes precautions to protect herself and her immunocompromised spouse from COVID which is part of the reason for her practice being entirely remote. She wears a mask when in public spaces as an act of community- and self-care. If you are interested in learning more about the spread of COVID and what you can do to protect yourself, you can find more information at https://peoplescdc.org/
